Example 1

To a solution the SM (0.34 g, 0.76 mmol) in DCM (10 mL) was added ZnBr2 (0.70 g, 3.1 mmol). The reaction mixture was stirred at RT for 3 days, after which time it was diluted with aq Na2CO3 and extracted with DCM. The combined organics were washed with brine, dried (Na2SO4), and concentrated to provide the product as a clear film. [0.25 g]
