Example 1

To a solution of the SM (0.5 g, 1.56 mmol) and 2-propyn-1-ol (5.0 mL, 85.86 mmol) was added DBU (0.035 mL, 0.23 mmol). The reaction mixture was stirred at RT for 16 h, then 50 C for 36 h. The mixture was concentrated to a brown oil, then purified by column chromatography (20-100% EtOAc/DCM) to provide the product. [0.28 g, 48%]
